As the 1970s began, tyre design for high-performance vehicles moved to lower profiles, alongside the introduction of wider tread profiles. Pirelli’s response was to develop the CN72 tyre with 70% then 60% profiles. This new design was called the CN12, and was a popular fitment for many high-performance European vehicles.

Available in three sizes, the CN12 was commonly fitted to many Italian cars, and is an alternative fitment for several English and French vehicles. It has a high-speed rating appropriate to many prestige car brands.

This 205/70WR15 size Pirelli CN12 is an ideal tyre for: Jaguar XJ6 (1979-87),  XJ12 (1972-81) and XJ-S (1975-81), Jensen Interceptor Mk3, SP and FF Mk3, Maserati Mexico, Merak and Kyalami, and Triumph TR6 (optional size) and Citroen SM. 

It can also be fitted as a replacement for the size ER70VR15, for the following vehicles: Jaguar XJ6 (1968-79) and E-type Series 3 and Panther J72.
